A busy day! 5 March 2018 (by S Copestick (Year1)) |
Today we welcomed Ann Angel (a Jewish visitor) who started our day by telling our school about a very special book to her - the Torah. Very fitting as we all came dressed in characters from our own favourite books today!
Ann told us the story of the Passover and how this linked to our special school value of Justice.
She explained about festivities that she would be taking part in with her family during the Jewish festival of Passover, and throughout the day each class took part in a workshop to learn about Passover and its meaning.
Here at Marton we find it so valuable to learn about other religions and cultures as this knowledge helps us to live in communion with the rest of the world.
A great thank you to Ann for being so informative and to the children for their interest and super behaviour!
