Footballing future looking bright for Marton!
The Year 3/4 Football team played in a tournament yesterday. The boys were an absolute pleasure to take, they all behaved and represented Marton school perfectly from start to finish.
There were 2 separate groups and we were in a very hard one ... 5 games played in total .
Game 1 ... St.Marys 0-0 result
Game 2 .... Mossley A team 0-0 result
Game 3 ... Quinta A ... 0-2 lost
Game 4 ...Smallwood won 2-0
Game 5 ... Blackfirs B won 1-0
The boys had to wait and see if they had made the semi-finals having come joint second in the group. However, it was not to be based on the goal difference.
The boys should be very proud of their efforts, it was Elliot's fist time in goals with this team. He did a great save to keep it 0-0 in one game and only letting 2 in 5 games is an absolutely outstanding result against some of those teams .
The other boys outfield did have it tough but pulled together, played some fantastic football and Steve and Susie were so impressed seeing as they only have lunch times with the boys.
Susie and Steve just wanted the whole team to know how proud they were of them and to get knocked out by goal difference was a fantastic effort.
