Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
I had the pleasure of attending New Life Church on Monday with our Ethos group and Miss Copestick and felt incredibly proud of our children. They are such great ambassadors for our school.
Year 2 and staff have had a wonderful residential trip to Beeston and we have loved listening about their adventures! Many thanks to all involved and for the children’s enthusiasm and behaviour.
Next week Year 6 will go on their residential and are looking forward to many exciting activities – and good weather!
Sports Day was a great success – all thanks to the children, staff (in particular Mr Marks and Dean) everybody had great fun. Many thanks to all the parents, carers, grandparents and friends who came and cheered the children on! We would also like to thank Kaite and helpers who ran the refreshments stall and to Felicity for running the Body shop stall. All were a great success and added to the great feel for the day, not to mention raising funds for school. At Parents Surgery this morning we discussed some improvements for sports day next year – so watch this space!
It’s our annual ‘Move Up Morning’ next Friday and we are all excited about this. Children will come into school as normal and will go to their new classrooms after assembly. I will also have the pleasure of announcing our new Head Boy and Head Girl at our Move Up assembly.
We will be welcoming our new reception parents to school next week, if you have friends or neighbours who have school age children, do tell them about us! We have spaces across school and would be delighted to welcome new families to our Marton family.
Well done to Year 5 who raised £11.50 for 5p Friday this week and received a pack of sweeties. Total raised this week was £36.40.
With best wishes for the weekend (and for the Weather and football!)
