School Sports and Clubs Autumn 1

Welcome back to everyone we hope that you had a great summer break, it is amazing how quickly the 6 weeks go by. From this week onwards, the children will be taught PE and so this is a reminder to bring in the school kit and correct footwear. If children are ill or injured and cannot actively participate in lessons, please let the class teacher or school office know exactly what the problem is. Children will still be involved in the lessons whether it is carrying out an observation, helping take photos, writing a report for the website on the lesson, refereeing games or having another role so it is important to know exactly what they can and cannot do.

PE sessions for each year group will be as follows and indoor and outdoor kit should be available:

Nursery and Reception FUNDAMENTALS – Throwing, catching, bouncing, balancing, hopping, skipping etc.

Year 1 Multi- Skills

Year 2 Multi Sports and Invasion Games

Year 3 Netball

Year 4 Basketball

Year 5 Hockey (field)

Year 6 Hockey (quick sticks)

Afterschool Clubs

There will be two afterschool clubs for children of all ages to attend:

Thursdays Gymnastics

Fridays Multi Sports

These clubs are available to book via the kickstart website www.wearekickstart.com and the first sessions start this week.

Kickstart Staff

All of the Kickstart Staff enjoy working with the children and staff at Marton Primary and we have a great working relationship. Coaches Mairead and Rebecca, along with myself have worked with the children during the last school year and we will continue to do so again this year. We will also introduce Coaches Aaron, Sam and Charlotte throughout the year as they have specialist expertise in areas such as boxercise and dance. I will be in school every Friday teaching Years 5 and 6 so if you want to talk or come and see me for anything please do not hesitate to do so. Alternatively you can always call me or email me and I will get back to you as soon as I can. During most school days I am teaching so please bear with me if you do not get an immediate response.
