On Thursday 8th November, in the first week back after the half term break, I would like to invite you to attend an extended phonics session that I will lead for the Y1 class.
This phonics session will give you an opportunity to see some of the reading and writing strategies that we use in phonics in line with the government document ‘letters and sounds’ - you will see some of the ways that children are taught phonics in Y1 and gain some ideas of activities to do at home to support your child in their learning.
I hope to begin at 9.15am giving me the chance to register the children and giving parents time to sign in at the office. Please confirm with the office whether you will attend so we have an idea of numbers and I hope to see some friendly parent faces on the day.
