Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
World Book Day was a great and colourful event and we loved seeing the children dressed as characters from their favourite books. The staff came dressed as crayons and we also had fun yesterday! Many thanks to all our families for supporting this event.
I had the pleasure of meeting 3 incredibly mature and thoughtful Year 5 pupils on Wednesday. They wanted to discuss potential fundraising at school to support an event that they are taking part in. I was absolutely thrilled to listen to them and consider myself incredibly lucky to have opportunities like this. They will be writing to you with further details so please watch this space and support them. These children are definitely our future!
We have had the pleasure of showing several prospective candidates around school this week for our EYFS post and are looking forward to interviews at the end of March. Special thanks to Mrs Rostron who is currently teaching our younger children and for all her hard work (with the whole staff team) in changing the classroom so all areas of learning are evident. Mrs Allport is currently off sick and we have arranged and interviewed a teacher; Miss Bourne to work with our children during her absence. Miss Bourne will start at Marton on Monday and is very much looking forward to working with our EYFS children and Mrs Rostron. Please do remember the classroom is open each Friday to change books and meet the EYFS staff too.
