Good afternoon,
Your child will be bringing home some sorting homework today. We have been working on sorting objects/ pictures all week. It is very easy for all the children if you ask them to find all the little or big objects or sorting by colour therefore please read the below games to play with your children.
Key question- Can you sort out the buttons and then tell me how you did it? When they have done it once ask them to find a different way.
Play Guess my Rule - you make a group of buttons and ask the children to guess the group rule. It might be that they are all round or have four holes in them or there are maybe a few rules to the group.
Odd one out - Make a group of buttons with one incorrect and ask the children to find the odd one out and explain why.
This activity is all about encouraging your children to use their voices to explain their ideas and understanding.

Please remember all homework is set to your child's next step in learning so they will have homework set to their need. Some children have sweet pictures rather than buttons. Sorry you all will need to cut them out.
