Fellow Parents and Carers,

As you are probably already aware the Friends and Families team raise funds through various events throughout the year. The money raised is used by the school for all sorts of much needed resources and to subsidise trips and outings which benefit all of our children.

To carry out these fund raising events, F&F ( formerly the PTA ) is a registered charity and must therefore comply with the relevant laws which include an annual report to the charities commission and regular meetings including an AGM. This is where the committee must be reappointed ( if they wish to be ), or if anyone wishes to take on a committee role they can put themselves forward and the position will be decided by way of a vote by those present at the meeting.

We have set the date for an AGM for Tuesday 21st January at 3.45pm (creche available too). To comply with the charitable laws, we must have in place a Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary, and ideally a Vice Chair too. After five years in the role I plan to step down as chairman at this time, simply because my daughter is coming toward the end of her time at Marton so it's appropriate for me to pass on the position sooner rather than later. My intention would be to take on the role of vice chair for the time being whilst the necessary admin is done and I can assist the new chair with the requirements of the role.
