Reception -Spring term information9 January 2020 (by Lena Owen (lowen)) |
Good afternoon and happy new year to you all.
We would like to share some key information with you about the coming term hence this long message.
All the children have come straight back into the class and started their busy learning. Well done.
Your child will take part in a guided reading session each week, which will take some of the time away from individual readers whilst in school. Therefore please ensure you read at home with your child at least 5 times a week.
Mystery reader was very successful last term. If you would like to come to surprise your child please just let us know.
Homework this week is all about those tricky words. The ones you have to just know and can not sound out. After completing the word search, please go find the tricky words in newspapers, letters, any writing in the home. They need to see them lots of times to learn them.
Bingo
We are going to hold bingo sessions on Wednesday afternoons at 3pm from the 29th January until February half term. You are more than welcome to come and join your child for a game of bingo in the classroom. You never know there might be a prize for the winner.
At parents evening, many of us talked about mathematical understanding and language. We would like to invite you to a short maths workshop on Wednesday 26th February at 3pm. We will be talking about practical ways for you to support your child with maths at home.
Sorry for the very long message but just want to give you all the dates as early as possible.
Thank you for all your support.
Mrs Owen and Mr Shaw
