Marvellous Marton make it through to the semi-finals
Wow! What a performance from our netballers in today’s Congleton Schools Tournament at Black Firs. The team put in their best performances to date to record the following results in the qualifying rounds;
2-1 Win v Buglawton
2-2 Draw v Quinta B
0-3 Loss v Black Firs A
2-1 Win v St Mary’s
Some really lovely play in challenging conditions, it wasn’t just windy it was absolutely freezing! All our players listened and tried their hardest to deliver the game plan and their hard work, effort and skill was justly rewarded.
In the semi-finals we came up against a tall, physical team from Mossley who got off to a flying start and kept the pressure on us to secure a 5-0 win. A flattering score line as the possession was much more equal than the score line suggests.
This group of players have improved so much since the first round of league matches and their teamwork and spirit makes me very, very proud. Huge congratulations to all of them.
