Mixed results for Marton in the latest round of league matches today.
In blustery conditions that were far from ideal for netball, Marton played 3 more league matches this afternoon.
Our first match v Quinta was all a bit rushed as we had some last minute changes to our line-up and didn’t really hit our stride until Q4. Despite our best efforts, Quinta took charge from the first whistle to win 5-1.
Having caught our breath and with a revised line-up, our second match v Smallwood was a much better performance with some really lovely passing play. In a game where we had the majority of the possession we secured a very well-deserved 2-1 win.
The third and final match against Back Firs was a really close contest and at the end of Q3 we were holding them to a 4-2 lead. Sadly in Q4 the rotations worked against us and Black Firs’ tall GS took full advantage of a ‘droopy’ post to score 3 more goals. The final score of 7-2 really doesn’t reflect how well we played and again I am really proud of all our players, their attitude and effort.
Well done everyone and as always, thank you to you all for transporting and supporting our fab team,
