Home learning23 March 2020 (by Year6) |
So, today was the first day of home learning for many of you. It’s a very strange experience, isn’t it? Today felt like a bit of a novelty, but as we continue this over a number of weeks, I hope it will all become more familiar and we can all settle into some sort of routine. Your routine might be very different to somebody else’s, but don’t worry. All of our families have to adjust to this new way of working and get by as best we can. Adults – be patient with the children, this is an unsettling time for them. Children – be patient with the adults, they’re all learning as they go along too!
I wanted to say well done and thank you to those of you who have been sharing your learning with me on SeeSaw. I love seeing what you have been getting up to. Remember to check on there regularly as I will be setting daily tasks for you. If you have been doing work from the home learning packs, please photograph that and add it to Seesaw too.
It’s important to have fun too. Play, read, text and call your friends, rest and exercise. This is also a great time to start a journal – it could be hand written, typed or a video blog. You are living history, living at a time like no other, and one day your current experiences will be a fascinating read to yourselves, your future children and grandchildren, or even to historians. (Even keeping a record of how many loo rolls you have left in your house will be interesting one day!)
Look after yourselves and stay safe.
